HISTORY

Northern Builders, Inc. was founded in 1927 by Paul Grusecki, who combined the classic American traits of hard work and enterprise to build a construction business. Paul Grusecki would not tolerate the term “good enough”. The result is a tradition of excellence. Under the guidance of Mr. Grusecki, his wife Mary, and his two sons, James and Thomas, Northern has grown into one of the largest full service development and construction companies in the Midwest.

As a privately held company, Northern distinguishes itself from competition by using in-house development expertise and construction experience to initiate creative and aggressive deal structures. By providing a single source of responsibility, Northern serves as one-stop shopping for our existing and prospective clients.

Today, Northern continues to operate with the same hands-on approach, entrepreneurial spirit and personal commitment to excellence that was present when the company was founded in 1927. With clients ranging from emerging businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, Northern has earned a reputation for creatively developing and constructing quality buildings…on or ahead of schedule.

Northern has participated in the design, development, and construction of over 45 million square feet of office and industrial space. Northern’s design-build construction methods allow our clients to manage the cost and construction schedule of their development from conception through completion. Our clients are encouraged to participate and take an active role in the design-build process. Continually focusing on our clients needs, we maintain the attitude that we are only as good as our last reference.
